Production

 

 Define Production

 When you choose Define Production from the Startup menu the following form appears:

This form is used to enter production step names, their value, and the schedule step to remove when this production step is completed. When the employee scans the step the computer will automatically remove the schedule step entered from the schedule. You are limited to 50 production steps.

 

Name

Enter the production step name in the Name area.

Value

Enter the value for the production step in this area. If you want to count the amount of steps completed, enter a 1 in this area. If you want to place a value for paying the employee, enter that value in this area.

Remove

Enter the schedule step to remove (see define schedule, page 28) in this area. When the employee scans the step the computer will automatically remove the schedule step entered from the schedule.

Exit

Use the Exit button to close Define Production. The computer will save any changes made.

 

Employee

When you choose Employee from the Production menu, the following form will appear:

Employee Name

Enter the new employee name in the text box under Employee Name.

Point Value

Enter the point value for this employee. A value of 10 would give this employee full point vale, a value of 5 1/2 value, or a value of 2  2/10 the value.

Group #

Enter the group number that this employee will be associated with.

Employee #

When you enter the Employee Setup form, the next available employee number will appear in the text box next to Employee #. You may also enter a number in this box and the information for that employee will appear on the Employee Setup screen.

Save

Use this button to save any changes for the current employee.

New

This button is used to clear the input area in preparation for a new employee.

Exit

Use the Exit button to exit the Employee Setup form.

Print

Use this button to print the employee list

Group to Print

Enter the group number if you want to print only one group or a 0 if you want to print all employees.

 

Production Entry

When you choose enter from the production menu the following form will appear:

This area is used for production entry. The employee scans their employee bar code and then the step bar code. And then they scan as many case bar codes as they have completed. (The case bar code is printed at the top of each work ticket.) This will update the employee production report, the case report, and will remove any schedule associated with the production step. As the employee scans the case bar codes the case number and the step completed is added to the Entries Completed list.

Employee #

While the cursor is flashing in this area, the employee may scan their employee bar code. The cursor will move to the Step area.

Step

While the cursor is flashing in this area, the employee may scan the step bar code. The cursor will move to the Case # area.

Case #

While the cursor is flashing in this area, the employee may scan as many case bar codes as they have completed.

 

Function Bar Codes

The Clear bar code is used to clear all entries and start in the employee area. This simply clears all visible areas and does not remove any previous entries.

The Remake bar code is used to start an entry for remake. Scan this bar code, the word REMAKE will appear on the form, and then complete the entry normally.

The Remove bar code is used to remove an entry. Scan this bar code, the word REMOVE will appear on the form, and then complete the entry normally.

The Employee bar code is used to move to the Employee # area.

The Step bar code is used to move to the Step area.

The Exit Production Entry bar code is used to exit this screen

 

Reports

When you choose Reports from the production menu, the following form will appear:

This report can be very flexible using the Step #, Employee #, Group #, Month Start, Month End, Day Start, and Day End areas.

Step #, Employee #, Group #

You may enter a step number, or an employee number or a group number to limit your report. If you leave a 0 in Step #, Employee #, or Group #, the report will be for all steps, employees or groups.

Month Start, Month End, Day Start, Day End

Use these input areas to limit your report to a specific time period.

Do Report

Use this button to complete your report showing a summary of each step with regular value and remake value.

Do Detailed Report

This button shows each case completed and the value of each step or remake step on each case with totals at the bottom.

Print

Use this button to print the report shown.

Exit

Use the Exit button to exit the report form.

 

Read Case

When you choose Read Case from the production menu, the following form appears:

Enter the last four digits of the case number in the Case# area and press your enter key. The case production will display showing the doctor name, the patient name, the date the step was completed and the employee number that completed the step.

Exit

Use the Exit button to exit the Read Case form.

 

Print Bar Codes

When you choose Print Bar Codes from the production menu, the following form will appear:

This form is used to print the bar codes used for entering production.

Employee Bar Codes

Choose Employee Bar Codes if you want to print the bar codes for each employee.

Production Step Bar Codes

This choice will print a bar code for each production step.

Function Bar Codes

Use this choice to print the function bar codes, such as: Remake, Remove, Clear, etc.

 

Inventory

Inventory Maintenance

When you choose Inventory Maintenance from the Inventory menu, the following form will appear:

The only difference in this inventory screen and the one shown on page 36 is that MSDS information and printing area have been added. Also an area for gold # has been added.

MSDS Information

In the MSDS Information area you would enter the information from your MSDS sheet supplied by your supplier.

Print MSDS

Use this button to print MSDS forms to attach to items used in the laboratory or to place in the area of use.

When you click on the Print MSDS button the following form will appear:

You can print as many MSDS labels as you wish at one time. You must use the pre-printed MSDS labels with this program. You may purchase these labels from Easy Solutions, or you can use the “msds.pub4 file on your installation CD with Microsoft Publisher to print your own labels. The labels used are Avery 6490 labels.

Simply enter the inventory number and the amount and then click on the Add button to add the inventory item that you want to print MSDS labels. Repeat this procedure for each inventory item.

You may click on labels already used in the label page represented on the right of the form. The computer will skip those labels checked on the first page.

Remove

You may click on an item in the list on the left and then click on the Remove button to remove that item from the Print list.

Print

When you are ready to print the labels, click on the Print button. The labels will be printed.

Gold#

If the inventory item is gold, enter the gold number from your gold list. (page 31)

 

Add Inventory

When you choose Add Inventory from the inventory menu, the following form will appear:

When you add inventory, the computer will print a bar code label to be attached to each item entered. The labels used are Avery 5167.

Inventory Number, Amount

Enter the inventory number and the amount and then click on the Add button for each inventory item added.

Number Of Labels

The total number of labels to be printed is shown in this area.

Number Of Pages

The number of pages needed is shown in this area.

Check All Labels Already Used

You may use a partial page of labels by clicking on each label already used in the label page representation on the right. The computer will skip those labels checked on the first page printed.

Add To Inventory/Print Only

If Add To Inventory has a black dot next to it, the computer will add the items to your inventory. If the inventory item is a gold item, the weight will be added to your lab button. Labels will also be printed.

If the black dot is next to Print Only, only labels will be printed and nothing will be added to inventory.

Remove

Click on an item in the list on the lower left and then the Remove button to remove that item from the list.

Print Bar Code Labels

Use this button to print your labels.

Exit

The exit button is used to exit this form.

 

Remove Inventory

When you choose Remove Inventory from the inventory menu, the following form appears:

First scan your employee bar code and then the inventory bar code that has been previously placed on the inventory item. The computer will display the item removed.

Put Back

Click on this button first if you have removed an item by mistake, and the complete the employee and inventory number entries. The computer will replace the item in inventory.

Exit

Use the exit button to exit this form.

 

Employee Use Report

When you choose Employee Use Report from the inventory menu, the following form appears:

This form is used to show inventory that has been removed by any employee.

You may use Employee # Start, Employee # End, Day # Start, Day # End, Month # Start, Month # End, and Year # to customize your report any way that you want.

Show Report

Use this button to show the report in the area on the right.

Print

Use this button to print any report shown

Exit

Use the Exit button to exit this form.

 

Print Bar Codes

Use this choice from the inventory menu to print employee bar codes and a bar code for clearing.

 

Gold Scale

When you choose Gold Scale from the miscellaneous menu, the following form appears:

This program is used to weigh the gold for any case and automatically add it to the case invoice. It also keeps track of the gold used and compares it to the ending button weight to see if you are losing gold or need to set your addition for each sprue higher or lower. This program can be used manually or with bar code entry.

This program uses the Ohaus Scout II gold scale with the serial computer connection.

First you will place the metal on the scale. Next you would scan the gold type or click on the gold from the list. Next you would scan the case number or enter it manually. Next you would scan the amount of sprues or enter it. If you scanned the sprues, the gold weight will automatically appear in the gold weight area. If you are entering manually, you must click on Get Weight. Finally scan the accept bar code or click the Accept button to accept this weight. The gold and weight will automatically added to the case and the gold used will be adjusted. The computer will clear the input area.

Tare     

Use this button to tare the gold scale.

Clear      

Use this button to clear the input area.

Case Number     

Use this button to set the number pad for case number input.

Sprues     

Use this button to set the number pad for sprue input.

Print Bar Codes     

This button will print bar codes for all of your golds and numbers for sprue input.

Set Comm Port #     

Use this button to set the number of the serial port that the scale is connected. (1-4)

Print Off/On   

Toggle this button to print each weight to your printer.

Day End Weight

Use this button to weigh all of the metal in the lab for each gold at the end of the day. When chosen, the following form appears:

Get Weight

Click on the gold, place the metal on the scale, and then click on get weight. The computer will place the gold weight in the area under New Weight.

Clear Weight

Use this button to clear the weight for the gold selected.

Save All

After all of your gold weights are entered, use this button to save all of the weights entered.

The gold loss report is accessed in the Define Gold area.
