Employee # or Name
Enter the employee number or name for this paycheck. If you enter the employee number or part of the employee name, the computer will find the employee and print the full name in this area and load the default check for this employee.
Check #
The computer will show the next check number in this area. If you wish to change the number, simply enter the new number in this area. The computer will change the last check number to equal the new number entered when the check is saved.
Hourly Wage/Normal Gross
The computer will enter the information in these boxes. The information cannot be changed. The computer gets the information from the employee record in define payroll.
Regular/Overtime/Sick/Holiday/Vacation
Enter the hours that the employee has worked in these input areas. If the employee is an hourly employee, the computer will automatically compute the gross wage.
Gross Pay
If the employee is a salaried employee, you could change the gross pay if necessary. You would not normally change the gross pay for an hourly employee. You would change the hours and the gross pay would change accordingly.
Date
The computer will enter today's date in this area. If you want to change it, you may.
Net Pay
The computer will compute this entry, you cannot change it.
Federal/Social Security/Medicare/State
After you enter gross pay, the computer will automatically enter these deductions. You can change them if you wish. Caution!, changing social security or medicare could cause problems with making federal deposits.
Extra Federal Extra State
The amount entered in define payroll will automatically appear here for extra federal and state to withold. You may change the amounts if needed.
Insurance
Enter the amount to deduct for insurance in this area.
IRA
Enter the amount to deduct for IRA deposits in this area.
Special #1/Special #2
Enter any special deductions in these areas.
#1 Chart #/#2 Chart #
Enter the chart numbers for the special deductions in this area.
You can set any of the deductions following State to deduct before taxes. See the define Payroll area for further explanation.
Exit
Use this button to exit the payroll checks form.
New
Use this button to start a new check.
Show Charts
Use this button to show your chart of accounts list. If you are in an area that requires a chart of accounts number, simply click on the number you want and it will appear in the input area.
Save - No Print
This button is used to save the check to your records, but it will not print the check.
Save - Print
Use this button to save the check to your records and print the check. Easy Lab fills in the preprinted check form. (Form #48207 Moore Business Forms 800-323-6230)
Remove
Use this button to remove a check from your records. The computer will remove any check with the same check number and date.
Adjust Print
If your printer does not fill out the Pre-printed check form properly, you may adjust it in this box. A negative number will move the print up and a positive number will move it down. Example: a negative 2 will move the print up two lines and a positive 1 will move the print down one line.
